Dominique CIAMARONE who was born in Lyon discovered marquetry in 1981. From there a true passion began. A technical challenge for a self-taught man fascinated by wood and its endless varieties, he perfected his own techniques. These sparkle of life and light cut into little elements of precious and natural wood, are grouped again by the expert hand of the artist into an extraordinary and allegoric painting. Impressive by the subtlety of its subject with a moving and captivating artistic expression, the marquetry pictures of D. CIAMARONE are the most accomplished in this area. In 1983 he started to exhibit his first paintings and they have evolved as with his palettes of wood became more and more important: a quest both in France and abroad. Some exotic wood with multiple gnarl enriches his representational and contemporary marquetry pictures. By his perseverance and determination, he obtained in 1990 the title of « Meilleur Ouvrier de France ».
